Hackerman House: Third Floor

Originally the household staff quarters, it now functions as two small conference rooms (Room 302 and 309) and five office rooms, which are used for small meetings, break out space and writing areas. You will note the generous quantity of operating skylights in the ceilings of the smaller rooms, the positioning of the small windows and how the overall design provides the opportunity to capture the prevailing and available winds and create natural air conditioning. The addition of a modern HVAC system guarantees comfort in all seasons.

Opening one of the knee wall doors will give you a foundation glimpse of the quality of construction evident throughout the house and the large dimension timbers used throughout. You will note that those storage areas, typically used for steamer trunks for the original summer inhabitants, are being effectively utilized today for storage as well.
