J. Erik Jonsson Woods Hole Center

Outdoor Views

The Jonsson Center overlooks Quissett Harbor on three sides. This protected windfall houses boats of all sizes including a fleet of classic Herreshoff 12 1/2 sloops.

The photo at left shows seating on the west lawn for outside dining. In the background across the harbor is the Knob, a reserve set aside for the public. The Knob features trails, beaches, and gorgeous views of Buzzards Bay.
Wrap-around decks provide spectacular views and a casual atmosphere for informal meetings and breaks during a busy day.

The Jonsson Center's pier faces the southwest overlooking a small cove that opens into the mouth of Quissett Harbor. The Woods Hole Golf Club is just across the harbor. Visitors can enjoy beautiful sunsets on warm evenings from the pier.

Visitors to the Woods Hole area often make it a point to stop by Nobska light. The lighthouse overlooks Vineyard Sound and Martha's Vineyard and sits atop a high bluff. Sweeping vistas of the Sounds, the Elizabeth Islands, and the treacherous Woods Hole passage await.
