Sackler Lecture - April 10, 2007 (Free/Open to Public)

Seats are still available however, online registration is closed.  Please bring a photo ID to the Guard Station at the C St Entrance to NAS Building and a name badge will be created for you.   You are invited to join the colloquium participants for the Reception / Poster Session from 5:00-6:00 pm and the lecture will begin promptly at 6 p.m.

The National Academy of Sciences is honored to present George Whitesides (Harvard University), who will deliver the 2007 Arthur M. Sackler Lecture entitled Nanoscience and Nanotechnology: A Portrait in Early Adolescence
A colloquium Poster Session and reception in the Great Hall 5:00-6:00 pm will precede the lecture, which will begin at 6:00 pm on April 10th in the Auditorium of the National Academy of Sciences building.  This event is free and open to the public. 

G Whitesides photoDr. Whitesides is a member of the National Academy of Sciences and the National Academy of Engineering and the Woodford L. and Ann A. Flowers University Professor at Harvard University.   In 1998, Whitesides was awarded the National Medal of Science.   Dr. Whitesides' lecture is presented in connection with the Sackler Colloquium Nanomaterials in Biology and Medicine: Promises and Perils, which will take place on April 10-11. The National Academy of Sciences is located in Washington, DC, on 2100 C Street between 21st and 22nd Streets, NW. The Academy is near the State Department (C Street side) and the National Mall/Vietnam Veterans Memorial (Constitution Avenue side).  Limited parking will be available in the NAS parking lot.

Directions from the Metro (subway system): The Academy is approximately six blocks south of the Foggy Bottom/GWU Metro Station, which is accessible by taking the Blue or Orange line trains.
