How to Nominate

Nominations will be accepted until Sept 15, 2010.
Nominators should submit the following:

  • a letter (three pages or fewer) describing the candidate's work and indicating why the candidate should be selected for the award.
  • the candidate's curriculum vitae, including country of citizenship and date of birth.
  • a selected bibliography of the candidate's most significant publications (maximum of 12 publications).
  • a maximum of three supporting letters.

Send nomination materials to:
National Academy of Sciences Awards Program
E-mail: awards@nas.edu
Mail: 500 Fifth Street NW (NAS 285), Washington DC 20001

Electronic copies sent by e-mail are preferred.

The National Academy of Sciences does not accept self-nominations. Joint nominations are discouraged; they are considered only when nominees have collaborated closely—usually in the same laboratory—on the work to be recognized by the award.

The awards recipients will be announced in January 2010. For more information about the nomination process, contact the Academy at awards@nas.edu or call 202.334.1602.
