Research Interests
As a scientist working in the field of nanoscience and nanotechnology, with a homemade set of sophisticated tools-including an ultra-high-vacuum Scanning Tunneling Microscope (STM), a low-temperature STM, an Atomic Force Microscope, a Ballistic-Electron-Emission microscope and a Scanning Near-Field Optical Microscope-my colleagues and I have studied a wide variety of materials with an emphasis on organic and biomaterial structures on the level of single molecule and nanoscale. The scope of research in my laboratory now includes the design and preparation of molecular nanostructures, self-assembly, novel nanomaterials, molecular nanodevices, single molecule detection, and the development of relevant characterizing techniques for nanoscale structures.
