Research Interests

A system of tax and transfer programs has been established throughout this past century with the goal of reducing poverty and improving the well-being of America’s most disadvantaged children and families. Throughout my career, my work has focused on evaluating the economic costs and benefits of these programs. My current research examines how access to the social safety net in early life affects children’s later life health and human capital outcomes.
