Research Statement
Meyer elucidated the mechanisms by which C. elegans measures X chromosome dose to determine sex and equalizes X chromosome gene expression between the sexes. She linked X chromosome dosage compensation in nematodes to fundamental aspects of chromosome behavior, including condensation and segregation, in diverse systems.
