Research Interests

I have published a number of papers on oceanic magnetics, plate tectonics, plate kinetics, and the subsidence history of continental margins. My current research is in theoretical geomorphology; causes, magnitudes, and rates of sea- level change; and the effects of sea-level change on sedimentary sequences. In particular, I am interested in the sea-level history of such peripheral basins as the Mediterranean Sea, Black Sea, Persian Gulf, and Baltic Sea--in the history of the epeiric seas. I am also interested in paleoclimatology and am working on Pleistocene climate change.
