US-UK Scientific Forum
The US-UK Scientific Forum was established in 2008 to help the scientific leadership of the United Kingdom and the United States forge an enduring and productive partnership on pressing topics of worldwide scientific concern with benefit to all people. Forums take place annually on topics selected by the officers of the NAS and the Royal Society, alternating between venues in the US and the UK. Each is attended by 50 to 60 researchers, about half from each country, in disciplines related to the topic area.
US-Israel Blavatnik Scientific Forum
In April 2019, the presidents of the NAS and the Israel Academy of Sciences and Humanities (IASH) signed a Memorandum of Understanding to benefit outstanding scientists in the United States and Israel and to formalize cooperative relations between their scientific communities. A generous grant by the Blavatnik Family Foundation supports an annual US-Israel Blavatnik Scientific Forum, as well as a visit by a senior researcher from one country to the other to promote collaboration and stimulate academic cooperation and understanding between academic institutions.
