Christopher Hacon is a Distinguished Prof. at Math. Dept. of the University of Utah. His research is in Algebraic Geometry and especially in the birational geometry of projective varieties. He was born in Manchester on 14/02/1970 but he was raised in Pisa, Italy and received his undergraduate degree from the University of Pisa in 1993 as well as his Diploma from the Scuola Normale Superiore di Pisa. He received his PhD in Mathematics at UCLA in 1998. He is a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences since 2017 and a recipient of the Breakthrough Prize in Mathematics 2018.

Research Interests
