Research Interests
My research areas include the following: structure, biosynthesis, and function of nucleic acids; enzymology of nucleic acid synthesis; DNA and RNA polymerases and the subreactions they catalyze; viral RNA polymerases; regulation of gene expression, particularly at the level of transcription; and protein factors and nucleic acid sequences that control transcription.
