Research Interests

My research activities have spanned several areas of astrophysics and cosmology. Topics of special interest include high-energy astrophysics (especially cosmic radio sources, physical processes around black holes, etc), formation and evolution of galaxies and other cosmic structures, the nature of the cosmic "dark matter," and physical processes in the early Universe. This research, which has involved collaborations with many graduate students, postdoctorates, and other colleagues, has generally been of a "phenomenological" kind, entailing close interaction with observers and experimenters.
