Research Interests
My research interests focus on mechanisms to promote and to inhibit the exchange of genetic information between microorganisms: DNA restriction and modification systems; genetic recombination mechanisms, including transposition and site-specific inversion and their relevance for genetic rearrangements; and spontaneous mutagenesis and microbial evolution.
