Research Interests

I am interested in the discovery, synthesis, and mechanisms of electrochemical catalysts for multi-electron redox reactions; synthesis and characterization of porphyrin complexes containing multiple metal-metal bonds and having various bond orders; oxidation catalysts which mimic the cytochrome P-450 system; synthesis and full characterization of analogues of the oxygen binding hemoproteins; synthesis and characterization of neutral, polymeric metal-organic complexes which will test highly speculative theories of excitonic superconductivity; theory and chemical applications of high Tc cuprite superconductors; and organometallic chemistry of 4d and 5d metalloporphyrins.
