Research Interests

My research has centered on chemical structure and reactivity, primarily making use of mass spectrometry and lasers. We have studied ionic reactions in the gas phase, and the dynamics of these reactions, electron photodetachment spectroscopy of negative ions, measurements of many electron affinities, and multiple photon infrared activation of ions. We have also studied mechanisms of solution and gas phase organic reactions as well as organometallic reactions and the behavior of biomimetic organometallic species.
