Research Interests
My recent research focus is (1) the origin and evolution of the malaria parasites (Plasmodium); (2) patterns of variation in molecular evolution; and (3) population genetics and evolutionary relationships of Drosophila. More generally, the study of biological evolution is my main interest, particularly the genetics of the evolutionary process, molecular evolution, the process of speciation, genetic variation in populations, studies of population growth, population dynamics, and ecological competition.
