Research Interests

Research interests include self-assembly of collagen and other matrix components into fibrils; transgenic mice expressing mutated genes for collagen and other matrix components; mutations in collagen-related genes that cause rare diseases such as osteogenesis imperfecta and Ehlers-Danlos syndrome and common diseases such as osteoporosis, osteoarthritis, and arterial aneurysms; gene therapy of diseases of connective tissue and central nervous system; agents for inhibiting fibrosis; and antisense genes.
