Research Interests

I work in experimental low-temperature solid-state physics, in particular on the lattice vibrations of disordered crystalline and of amorphous solids. Experimental techniques include measurements of thermal conductivity, specific heat, and acoustic properties. Current research interests include thin films, in which the effect of surfaces, deposition conditions, and heat treatment are being explored, including the heat transfer across interfaces. Some of the specific goals include the improved understanding of thin-film photovoltaic devices and of metal-film interconnects.
