Research Statement
My research focuses on understanding the molecular events underlying the pathogenesis of Alzheimer?s disease (AD). Our projects investigate the proteolytic processing, trafficking and abnormal aggregation of A?, the aberrant phosphorylation of tau and formation of neurofibrillary tangles. We also attempt to discover novel genes and genetic pathways that affect A? processing. Our goal is to characterize the molecular cascade that leads to the AD etiopathogenesis, and uncover information critical for development of rational therapeutics.
