Research Statement
Our research combines solid-state chemistry, electrochemistry, and materials chemistry to develop semiconductor electrodes and electrocatalysts that can utilize solar energy for various oxidation and reduction processes related to the clean and sustainable production of chemical fuels (e.g. photoelectrolysis of water to produce H2). We use electrochemical synthesis to rationally and simultaneously control the compositions and morphologies of the electrodes to study composition-morphology-property relationships. Our current focus is to increase our understanding of semiconductor/electrocatalyst interfaces.
