Research Statement
Manyuan Long currently is Professor of Genetics and Evolution in Department of Ecology and Evolution, at the University of Chicago. He received Ph.D. at the University of California at Davis in 1992. He did postdoctoral research in Department of Molecular and Cellular Biology, Harvard University, before he joined the Chicago faculty in 1997. He is interested in origin and evolution of new genes and won Packard Fellowship for Science and Engineering and NSF CAREER award.
