Research Statement
Martin Korte is a neurobiologist. He tries to understand the cellular and molecular mechanisms of learning and memory processes. In order to tackle these complex questions, I work within the hippocampus of normal and genetically altered mice. The Hippocampus is a brain structure known to be important for spatial memory. In the future we will try to understand how functional changes can lead to structural changes of neurons in the process of information storage.
