Research Statement

Astronomical instrumentation is the art of risk management and technology appropriation to explore the universe. Replicable instruments will be crucial and must be demonstrated successfully. I am building VIRUS, a massively replicated fiber-fed spectrograph designed to measure dark energy evolution at a crucial time in universal history. Following my building the first UV fiber spectrograph, I am developing astrophotonic devices to create broad and narrow filters, especially in the infrared wavelength regime.
