Research Interests

Adaptive Evolution and speciation models, allopatric and sympatric, across life from viruses and bacteria through fungi, plants, and mammals . Model organisms include Spalax, wild barley, Hordeum spontaneum, wild emmer wheat, Triticum dicoccoides. In application, Cancer resistance in Spalax, and plants from extreme , stressful environments, and crop improvement in plants, primarily wheat and barley.
