Research Interests
The intensive study of prehistoric skeletal populations from the Americas emphasizing micro-evolutionary change and biological response to environmental stress is of greatest interest. The approach is multi-disciplinary, including programs in archaeology and the medical sciences. Other interests are bone microstructure, individuation, experimental cremation, social dimensions of mortuary behavior, demography, forensic anthropology, paleopathology, paleonutrition, biological distance, and the biological impact of European colonization in the Americas.
