Research Interests
My major areas of research are: extending the germplasm base of maize liens and hybrids by use and adaptation of elite tropical germplasm sources; classification of Latin American accessions and races of maize; selection studies involving yield, disease resistance, and other agronomic traits in maize; and classical genetics of maize, including isozyme and molecular marker work, emphasizing linkage studies.
