Biosketch
Susan T. Lovett is a molecular biologist with interests in the mechanisms of homologous recombination, DNA repair and genomic instability. She was born in Rochester, NY and grew up in Radford and Lynchburg, VA and Bay Village, OH. She studied Chemistry at Cornell University as an undergraduate and did doctoral wok at the University of California Berkeley in the Department of Molecular Biology and postdoctoral work at Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory and at Harvard Medical School. She has been a faculty member at Brandeis University since 1989. She taught the Cold Spring Harbor Advanced Bacterial Genetic course from 2006-2010, has served on the Board of Directors of the Genetic Society of America and is Editor-in-Chief of the EcoSal Plus Journal published by the American Society of Microbiology. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Microbiology and the American Association for the Advancement of Science and a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and the National Academy of Sciences.
