Research Interests

My main interests are in mathematical analysis; whether it be the study of linear and nonlinear waves, or counting patterns in sets such as the prime numbers, or understanding how one can efficiently recover signals from incomplete and noisy data, or to control the behavior of random matrices. Perhaps the one unifying theme behind these diverse subjects is that the analysis often hinges on understanding the dichotomy between structured behavior (which can be studied algebraically or geometrically) and random or pseudorandom behavior (which can be studied with more analytic techniques, such as those from probability theory.
