Biosketch

Professor Moore was born in Oakland, California and grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area. He graduated summa cum laude with a degree in Biological Psychology from California State University, Chico, and received his Ph.D. from Princeton University, where he was a National Science Foundation fellow. He was a postdoctoral fellow at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. In 2003, he started his own laboratory at Stanford University, where he is currently a Professor of Neurobiology and a Howard Hughes Medical Institute Investigator. Professor Moore has received the Troland Research Award and the Pradel Research Award, both from the National Academy of Sciences, for his work on visual attention. He is also a member the National Academy of Medicine.

Research Interests

Tirin Moore is visual neuroscientist who studies the neural mechanisms of visual-motor integration and the neural basis of cognition. His research has made fundamental and insightful contributions to our understanding of the neuronal circuitry of visual spatial attention.
