Research Statement
Kathrin Maria Aziz-Lange holds a diploma degree in Physics from the Technical University Berlin. She finished her PhD at the Helmholtz Zentrum Berlin fr Materialien und Energie in 2012. Thereafter, she worked as a Research Fellow at the Max-Born Institute for Nonlinear Optics and Short Pulse Spectroscopy and as a Guest Scientist at the cole Politechnique F_d_rale de Lausanne in the Laboratory of Ultrafast Spectroscopy. Since January 2016 she is head of the Helmholtz Young Investigator Group Operando Characterization of Solar Fuel Materials at the Helmholtz Zentrum Berlin and at Bielefeld University. Her present research is focused on developing synchrotron based methods for operando soft X-ray spectroscopy and she uses them in particular for the electronic structure investigations of materials for solar water splitting.
